Peter Grosjean

Level 3 Performance Coach (Speed) – Sprints & Hurdles; Level 2: Jumps, Throws, Endurance;
Children in Athletics; Leader in Fitness in Running and Walking. Level 2 Fitness Instructing (Gym). Level 2
Certificate in Instructing Circuits Sessions. Level 2 Certificate in Adapting Gym Instruction for Adolescents.
Peter has a passion for Combined Events, especially heptathlon. He has 20 years coaching experience to international level. He was a member of the England Athletics National Coach Development Programme for Speed
and Combined Events. This aimed to give selected coaches the tools to take athletes through to international level.
Peter is a former England Athletics Tutor for the Elevating Athletics Programme. In addition to his volunteer
coaching for MAC, he has coached in schools athletics academies and for Somerset Schools AA. He managed the
sportshall athletics in Somerset for many years, ran coaching camps, and has coached on Millfield’s summer
athletics courses. He attends coaching workshops to ensure he continues to develop as a coach and is up to date
with current best practice. Peter is also a Regional Coordinator for QuadKids & Super8 short format athletics competitions.
In addition to coaching, Peter is a Level 2 Field Official and Level 2 Timekeeper. He will often be found at local
competitions on the time keepers’ stand.

Coach
Niamh is an ex-sprinter and has been with the club in a supporting role on her journey to beeing a coach since 2017.
Niamh became a coach in 2020, with a focus on jumps, primarily High Jump.

Andy Rumley
Athletics Coach- Lead Official
Andy Rumley – Andy’s daughter started training with Mac Jac in 2007 and in 2008, he started his coaching journey. First qualifying as a Coaching Assistant and then as an Athletics Coach in 2010/11. To help out at competitions he then trained as a Field Official. Andy is in charge of the coaching and officials development programme at the Club and he is now a Level 4 Official. He is trained in First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children and is the first point of contact for the Junior Academy.

Annie Taylor
Athletics Coach
Annie has been helping at MacJac since her daughter Tottie joined the club in 2011. She qualified first as a Coaching Assistant in 2013 and then trained as an Athletics Coach in 2015 mentored by Head Coach, Andy Rumley. Annie has completed additional courses in Running Fitness, Physical Preparation, First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children. She is also a Starter and Starter’s Assistant for Mac, Millfield and Somerset.

Emily Tarring – Coaching Assistant .
Emily’s son Zach started training with Macjac in 2016. Since doing a Coaching assistant course in 2017, Emily has been helping to coach the Macjac athletes is currently in the process of becoming one of our track officials. Emily is also the Welfare Officer of the Club.
Gwladys Berry – Coaching Assistant.
Gwladys started helping at Macjac in 2014 when her son joined the club. She qualified as a Coaching Assistant in 2015. To help out during competitions, Gwladys trained as a track official gaining her Level 1 license in 2018. Gwladys is a keen long distance runner who has completed various half marathons and marathons as well as trail runs.
Murray Grant – Throws – Level 4 Throws: Discus, Shot & Hammer. He has 30 years experience up to international level. Murray also has a background in strength & conditioning. He coaches at Whitehall on Wednesday afternoons and evenings and at several other tracks in Somerset. He has been a team manager and is a field official in athletics for many years.

Matt Reid – Level 1 Coaching Assistant. Matt is a lapsed athlete who returned to coaching when his daughters joined Macjac in 2017. He got the athletics bug and enjoys coaching young athletes. His main event is sprints and relays but he also takes sessions on long jump and shot putt.

Tottie Taylor – Youth Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Volunteer
Tottie started at Mac Jac in Year 3, gaining her Somerset vest at Sportshall and becoming Junior Captain in Year 5. She has since competed in athletics, modern pentathlon, swimming, fencing, hockey, indoor hockey, netball, cricket, rounders, football, trampolining and shooting! At National Schools, she represented Millfield in the 100m, 4x100m, 80m hurdles and pole vaulting and she has sprinted at the Sir Roger Banister track in the Achilles Relays. Tottie qualified as an England Athletics Youth Leader at 14 and was Team Manager for the winning Somerset boys team at Sportshall Regional s 2019. She is volunteering at Mac Jac as part of her D of E Silver Award, having completed 13 hours of volunteer work at the club for Bronze Award.
Ellie Chivers – Youth Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Volunteer
Ellie competed at Somerset SportsHall in Year 5 and she started at Mac in Year 6. At U13’s she was on the podium for regional indoor 800m and at U15 she was outdoor county champion and regional indoor champion at 300m. Ellie has competed for Mac since the age of 10 and has also been a regular competitor for Bristol and West’s combined Youth Development team, including the promotion winning team of 2018. As well as this, Ellie has competed for South West Schools and has recently become an England Athletics Youth Leader. She enjoys volunteering at Mac Jac as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, having already done this for her Bronze.
